Portrait of Young Woman with Unicorn – the Year of Italy in Russia.
08/03/2010
One of the most mysterious pictures of world art – Young Woman with Unicorn painted by Raphael – left for a while the gallery Borghese in Roma and it is demonstrated in Moscow now, in the Museum of Fine Arts of Pushkin. Critics consider that young Raphael got in touch with Leonardo da Vinci via this masterpiece as by that time had already created his Mona Lisa.
The picture should be of great value in order the visitors should come to the exhibition to watch only one picture and Raphael's work is exactly that case. Raphael’s “Young Woman with Unicorn” is considered to be the same masterpiece, as “Mona Lisa” of Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo’s “David”. By the way, all three artists lived and worked at the same time in Florence. Opening of this exhibition officially opens the Year of Italy in Russia. The minister of culture has underlined that the given exhibition is special; it is conceived not by museum workers but diplomats – the ambassador of Italy in Russia. “This is unusual diplomatic action that adorns the Year of Italian culture in Russia”, - the Minister of Culture said. Till May’10 you have a great chance to attend the museum with your Moscow bride.
