Christmas Tree as it is called in Western mostly Catholic countries has another name in Russia and Ukraine where you beautiful brides live. There it is called The New Year's Tree.
Do you know that the highest Christmas tree in the world had a height of 110.35 meters and a diameter of 35 meters?
The highest artificial Christmas tree in the world, according to the Guinness Book of Records, was established in 2009 on the prospectus of Paso de la Reforma in Mexico City. Its diameter was 35 meters, and height - 110.35 meters, which is equal to the height of forty stories building!
Within two months before the New Year "giant" was set, with the help of 200 workers. It took them a tremendous amount of metal structures with a total weight of 330 tons, as well as electric garlands, the total length of which amounted to about 80 thousand meters.
The ceremonial lighting of the lights on the Christmas tree alerted visitors and residents about the beginning of the festive celebrations. In Russia, the tallest Christmas tree is considered to be established on Poklonnaya Hill in Moscow. Its height is 46.5 meters.
It is interesting to know that on the lake Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas in Rio de Janeiro in 2007 there was built the highest floating Christmas tree in the world. It had a height of 85 meters and was decorated with more than two million light bulbs.
